145th Anniversary of Lee's surrender to Grant to be held at Clover Hill Village. 1 mile from actual surrender site. Living historians will be portraying Generals Lee & Grant and their lieutenants will recreate historic moments of the final days leading up to and including the surrender. Activities include: Lee's last war counsel, General Gordon's attempted break-out, Lee-Grant meeting, stacking of arms and reduction of colors. Reenactors limited. Military host: Lee's Lieutenants

Spectator Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12.

Billie Creek Village welcomes Civil War Re-Enactors from all over the United States to participate in the annual Civil War Days.   Each year, famous battles of the Civil War are fought throughout the village and farm lands over the two day event.  On Sunday, June 14th, a public senatorial debate between Abraham Lincoln and Steven A. Douglas will be recreated just outside the Governor's house in Billie Creek Village.

Almost an century and a half after the Civil War ended Union and Confederate troops fight at the Lake County Forest Preserve.  The battle, which features about 500 reenactors, is part of the 19th annual Civil War days show.  Cannons blast, rifles fire, and soldiers yell throughout the field.  The show features tactics that were actually used during the Civil War  with cavalry, infantry, and artillery entering the fray.www.lcfpd.org/html_lc/civilwardaysweb
